Mini Basketball Court Model (Backboard) Part 2

This is part 2 of the mini basketball court project. It will be finishing the building off the backboard as well as the rim and net that will be attached.

Materials:
tweezers (to piece together small parts)
2 1/4 inch jewelry rings
clear gel glue
silver sharpie
orange sharpie
bottle cork or small cork board
1 piece of gauze
scissors
x-acto knife
ruler
pieces from part 1

Estimated time: 15-20 minutes.
Once all glued together allow to dry over night to ensure stability before moving and adding more pieces.

Instructions:
1. First color all sides of the 2 cardboard frames from part 1.
2.Then put glue along the inside edge of the 2 frames and place the plastic rectangles into the middle of the frames. (It will be a tight fit since the whole and the plastic are the same size) Once the plastic is inserted wipe off any extra glue that might have spread on the plastic.
3. Next take the 2 frames made from the index card and put a light amount of glue on one side and center them along the bottoms of the 2 plastic backboards. Set aside to dry while doing the next steps.
4. With the x-acto knife cut 2 3/16 inch long right triangles out of the cork. Color the triangles and the 2 1/4 inch rings with the orange sharpie. Then glue the rings to the triangles and let dry for a couple of minutes.
5. Glue the rim to the backboard by sticking the cork to the silver colored cardboard. It should be centered so it fits right in the middle of the white square. Make sure that the largest side of the triangle opposite the right angle is facing out. Set aside to dry.
6. Next take the piece of gauze and unfold it and separate the pieces. Use the part that has the holes. Measure out 2 3/4 inch pieces and cut them out with the scissors.
7. Finally glue the ends of each piece of gauze together making them into circles and glue them to the undersides of the rims. (Tweezers may be needed to place the smaller pieces together)
