Mini Basketball Court Model (Backboard) Part 1

This is the first step in a mulit-part project. I am making a mini basketball court and have started by making the backboard. Below are instructions for making the backboard. I will be posting each piece of the project as I finish them.

 Materials:
1 empty Powerade bottle
1 lined index card
1 2 inch square piece of cardboard
scissors
x-acto knife
ruler

Estimated time: 10-15 minutes.

Instructions:
1. First cut the cardboard into 2 5/8 inch by 7/8 inch rectangles.
2. Then cut out a 7/16 inch by 11/16 inch rectangle out of the first rectangle making a frame. Next cut 2 7/16 inch by 11/16 inch rectangles out of a flat part of the Powerade bottle making the glass portion of the backboard. Set aside for later.
3. Next take the index card and cut off half of the largest top line. Then fold it in half length wise so it is even.
4. After it is folded use the x-acto knife to cut a square out and make a frame like you did in step 2. Only this will be smaller. If you keep the index card folded you will only have to cut out a square once. Just make sure you cut all the way through.
5. Finally cut the end of the index card off just below the square hole you cut out, unfold it and cut along the crease to make to small frames. Set aside for later. These will later be used as the "shooting boxes" that are behind the rim.
